Why Verifran exists

Franchising is a $4 trillion global industry running on gut feel.

We did not start in tech. We started inside the franchise system.

Our founder, Omran Ismail, was a franchisee himself, running a Mac's Milk (Couche-Tard/Circle K) location. Later, he built Trivex into a construction partner supplying major franchise brands across Canada. Our team has spent years on both sides of the table, as operators and as industry partners.

What we kept seeing was the same problem: franchisors spent tens of thousands on recruitment, got hundreds of leads, and most went nowhere. The issue was not the leads. It was that nobody had a fast, objective way to measure franchise readiness before the process even started.

The FDD standardized disclosure. Nothing has standardized candidate readiness. Until now.

The Franchise Disclosure Document gave candidates transparency into franchisor operations. Item 19 earnings claims, litigation history, territory structures. But there is no equivalent flowing in the other direction. Franchisors have no structured, verifiable way to assess a candidate before investing time and resources.

Brokers are structurally conflicted. They earn fees on placement, not on fit. Manual screening is subjective and inconsistent. The result is a qualification gap that costs the industry billions and destroys lives when candidates invest their savings into a franchise that was never right for them.

Verifran is the missing layer. We score candidates across seven validated dimensions in 15-20 minutes, then offer a verification path that confirms self-reported data with documents, identity checks, and credit analysis. The result is a portable readiness score that travels with the candidate.

We built Verifran to solve that, not to replace brokers or consultants, but to give everyone in the ecosystem better data to work with.

Built by franchise operators.

Founder

Former franchisee (Mac's Milk / Couche-Tard). Built Trivex into a construction partner for major franchise brands across Canada.

Built to become the qualification standard the CFA, IFA, BFA, and FCA point to.

Franchise associations in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia each govern disclosure standards and ethical practices. None of them have a structured candidate readiness framework.

Verifran is building toward institutional recognition. A portable FitScore that associations can reference, franchisors can require, and candidates can carry. Canada is the starting market. The United States, United Kingdom, and Australia follow in 2026 and beyond.
